SOME’s Thanksgiving Day Trot for Hunger 5k Returns Nov. 25!
Mark your calendar! On November 25, SOME’s 20th Annual Thanksgiving Day Trot for Hunger 5k will take place at Freedom Plaza in DC, once again! You can start your holiday off with a good cardio workout as you run the course and burn off a few calories to prepare for your gourmet Thanksgiving dinner. For years, they have kept the special tradition going that supports a good cause. All the earnings made from the 5K will go directly to those in the DC neighborhood in need of food, housing, healthcare, and employment training.
The race has become a popular DC event for the community to enjoy for all ages. They even have a Kids’ One Mile Little Turkey Fun Run for kiddos, along with live music and games to check out afterward. Keep in mind, the kids’ one mile race will start at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K at 9 a.m. Be sure to arrive on time and get ready to sprint, jog, or even walk to the finish line.
